We've missed our intended April 13th launch date, owing to hardware/software glitches and general incompetence :-(

We are now aiming for a late May 2009 launch date. Sorry for the frustrating delays!

Quick ratings on this week's new releases are as follows:

13 Going on 30 (2004). Comedy starring Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Kathy Bates and Andy Serkis. With the DVD available for under a fiver do you really want to spend £20 on a Blu-Ray version?

American History X (1998). Critically acclaimed story about an ex-white supremacist trying to stop his brother going down the same route. Starring Ed Norton and seemingly a bargain at under £12 online.

Final Destination (2000) (not pictured because release information was late!). Extremely silly story about teenagers who cheat The Grim Reaper by missing a plane that crashes, and The Reaper wants revenge. Enjoyable hokum for all that.

Inkheart (2008). Seriously under-rated family film about 'silver tongue' who can bring characters to life out of books. Starring Brendan Fraser with British thesps Helen Mirren, Jim Broadbent and Andy Serkis joining in. Alas, the extra's are pants!

Max Payne (2008). Mark Wahlberg does a better job than the critics have implied in this 'all style but no substance' film based on a computer game and aimed squarely at the 'young, dumb and full of cum' game crowd (who complained it didn't have enough action!). Good popcorn movie and the one hour featurette as part of 2 hours worth of extra's is better than most. Includes a second disk containing a Digital Copy. Worth at least a rental I'd say.

The One (2001). Jet Li stars in rather silly story about parallel worlds and an evil double who gets stronger by killing his doppelgangers in other dimensions.

The Thirteenth Floor (1999). Craig Bierko and Gretchen Mol star in this cerebral sci-fi thriller with a twist. Completely over-looked because of similarity to 'The Matrix' and admittedly rather weak post-twist pacing which suddenly turns narrative into a love story. DISC OF THE WEEK!

Universal Soldier: The Return (1999). Starring Jean Claude van Damme and never released theatrically outside the USA. 'Nuff said - Avoid!
